Meeting of the Deans of the Faculties of Arts in Iraqi UniversitiesOn Monday, the fourteenth of September, a number of deans of the Faculties of Arts in Iraqi universities met with the President of the Republic, Nechirvan Barzani, at the Peace Palace, in the presence of the advisor, Professor Dr. Ali Shukri. The discussion revolved around effective solutions to encourage students to pursue literary studies, including, of course, utilizing the graduates of the Faculties of Arts in various fields of work.The Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ahlulbait University (peace be upon them), Professor Dr. Hashim Al-Haidari, had a private meeting with the President, during which he spoke about the progress witnessed by Ahlulbait University (peace be upon them). At the conclusion of the meeting, the President was awarded the Ahlulbait University (peace be upon them) medal.

Journalism department students at the Faculty of Arts discuss their graduation research projects in a distinguished academic atmosphere.
The Journalism Department at the Faculty of Arts, Ahlulbait University (peace be upon them), held the graduation project defense for fourth-year students for the current academic year 2025-2026, amidst an academic and scientific atmosphere that reflected the students' proficiency and their interest in contemporary media and journalistic issues.The discussions included the presentation of several research papers covering diverse topics in the fields of journalism, digital journalism, documentary filmmaking, and the role of media in addressing societal issues, in the presence of the Head of the Department, Dr. Adel Al-Zubaidi, and a number of faculty members and students.During the discussions, the scientific committee emphasized the importance of strengthening research skills among journalism students to contribute to preparing media personnel capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in journalistic and media work, praising the efforts made by the students in preparing their research.For their part, the students defending their projects expressed their thanks and gratitude to the supervisors of their scientific research for the support and academic guidance they provided, which contributed to completing their projects as required, affirming their commitment to applying academic knowledge to serve professional media work.

Ahlulbait University's Journalism Department concludes the "Journalistic Story" workshop for its students at the Karbala 24 News Network.
The Journalism Department at Ahlulbayt University (peace be upon them) concluded a specialized training workshop titled "The News Story: Foundations and Application," which was held in the halls of the Karbala 24 News Network. The workshop was part of the intensive 2026 training program, aimed at enhancing the practical skills of media students and bridging the gap between academic study and field work.The workshop lasted for 21 days, consisting of two sessions per week, and featured a comprehensive training program that combined theoretical aspects with practical applications. The workshop was led by student journalist Mohammed Al-Sawaf, under the direct supervision of Dr. Jalila Abdullah, a professor of journalistic editing arts.The workshop focused on the mechanisms of building human-interest news stories, techniques for choosing innovative angles, and methods for crafting content that combines factual accuracy with an engaging literary style, contributing to the preparation of students equipped with modern journalistic tools.This initiative comes within the framework of the organizers' commitment to developing students' media skills and preparing them to enter the job market with real-world field experience.At the conclusion of the workshop, participants expressed their praise for the training content, appreciating the efforts of trainer Mohammed Al-Sawaf and the supervisory role of Dr. Jalila Abdullah in guiding their work toward professionalism, while the network management confirmed its continued support for young talent through high-quality training programs.

Council of Deans of Faculties of Arts across Iraq
The Council of Deans of Faculties of Arts across Iraq convened in the city of Mosul on 9–10/5/2024, with the attendance of the Chairman of the Deans' Committee and all deans of the Faculties of Arts. A set of proposals submitted to the committee by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was discussed, and decisions and recommendations were made and forwarded to the relevant authorities. Ahlulbayt University (peace be upon them) was represented by its dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jaafar Qasim Al-Haydari.

Ahlulbait (AS) University completes its preparations for the introduction of a number of medical and educational specializations.
Ahlulbait (AS) University has completed its early preparations to establish a number of medical and educational departments and to fulfill the requirements for launching postgraduate studies in several disciplines, in order to support scientific innovation and instill the concepts of entrepreneurial education. The Assistant President of Ahlulbait University, Professor Dr. Bassem Al-Oqabi, stated that the university has completed the requirements for establishing new scientific departments, including Dental Technology and Cosmetic Techniques, and the establishment of the College of Education with departments in Arabic Language, English Language, and Art Education. He pointed out the university's plan for vertical expansion by establishing postgraduate studies in a number of scientific disciplines, most notably Blood Transfusion, Dental Implants, Industrial Pharmacy, Law, English Literature, and Sports Medicine. He explained that the goal of these horizontal and vertical expansions is to support scientific innovation, instill concepts of entrepreneurial education in students and researchers, develop their research skills, respond to the requirements of the labor market, and provide the community with scientific specializations that will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing health security. He affirmed that the university is keen on building a modern educational system capable of creating a developed society that can adapt to current and future requirements. Al-Oqabi clarified that all procedures will be carried out once the ministry's approval for the establishment is obtained, noting that the university has fulfilled the requirements stipulated in the regulations and laws of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the material, scientific, and human capabilities required to establish the scientific departments.

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan
In implementation of the scientific plan of the College of Law for the 2025–2026 academic year, the college held a seminar on Sunday morning, November 9, 2025, titled "Legislation Governing Parliamentary Elections: Between Reality and Aspiration," at 10:30 AM in the Ibn Sina Hall.
The session was moderated by Professor Dr. Nabil Abdul Shuaibeth, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, while the lecture was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Karim Lafta Mashari, a faculty member at the College of Law. He discussed the reality of electoral legislation in Iraq and the prospects for its development in line with the principles of justice and democracy.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Mohsen Al-Qazwini, Head of the Founding Body, and Professor Dr. Basem Alwan Al-Oqabi, Assistant University President for Administrative Affairs, alongside a number of the college's faculty members and students.
At the conclusion of the event, the Head of the Founding Body presented the Creativity Shield to Professor Dr. Hassan Hantoush Rashid, Dean of the College of Law, in appreciation of adopting one of his publications as a supplementary teaching curriculum in law schools, as an expression of the Founding Body's continuous support for the scientific journey and academic creativity.
About the College
The College of Law is considered one of the first colleges at Ahlulbait University since its establishment in 2003.
The duration of study is four years, and it grants students a Bachelor's degree in Law, qualifying graduates to practice law and provide legal consultancy in public and private sector institutions.
